Falcon AIR released on patchpool

Falcon Air combines organic acoustic samples with the plethora of synthesis forms available in Falcon. Often several different synthesis modules are combined within in one patch, many presets make use of the new multi-granular engine, the wavetable synth and the new physical modeling module introduced in Falcon. All samples, wavetables and images (for image re-synthesis in the WT synth) were created especially for this library.

Expressive hybrid instruments meet multi-sampled percussive sounds, sweet ambient pads, ethereal textures and minimal sequences are drowned in haunting granular abysses, electric guitar ambiences, feedback swells and mesmerizing industrial drones, technoid synth arps and big bass sounds are accompanied by ethnic drums, beautiful mallets and various chromatic percussion sounds.

The sample content was generated from multi-sampled percussion instruments and glass objects, industrial field recordings executed in factories, electric guitar instruments, weird sounds of electronic gadgets captured with special coil microphones, audio-morphed vocal sounds and electronic soundscapes, also re-synthesizing and audio-morphing acoustic sounds with programs like Metasynth, Morph and Kaleidoscope, to name a few.

All patches have up to 30 Macros and switches assigned, most make use of the modulation wheel, quite a few also use aftertouch. In many patches tempo-synced modulators are used to animate the amplitudes and filters of the involved samples and sound generators, often key-switchable sound combinations or different articulations are available within one patch. All patches which have several different sounds split across the keyboard (often over a range of six octaves or more) use key-coloring in Falcon's keyboard which makes it easier to navigate through the various split sounds.

Specs:

 • 2.57 GB of original samples (538 wavs/stereo/48 Khz/24 Bit/phase-aligned), 24 wavetables, 1 single cycle waveform, 2 impulse responses, 11 images - very few samples were borrowed from other patchpool libraries. The content is not encrypted, so you can use the samples and wavetables in other samplers and synths or directly in your DAW.
 • 102 patches combining most synthesis forms available in Falcon.
 • Library size in total: 2.6 GB
 • Delivery: download (RAR-archive in 3 parts for better download handling)
 • Price: € 56 EUR

Sampled acoustic Instruments:

 • Chinese opera cymbals, bowed and beaten, also hand cymbals
 • Wahwah tube
 • Water drums / jicara de aqua (a pair of water pumpkins)
 • Various bell types like Japanese wind bells, Nepalese crotales, bell trees, camel bells, sleigh bells, bronze bells, swirling bells (solid sonic triangles)
 • Glass gongs
 • Large frame drum
 • Amped electric guitar - drones, feedback swells, chord textures, e-bow sounds

Patch categories:

 • Bells (13)
 • Cymbals - Percussion (11)
 • Guitars (12)
 • Mallets - Plucks (12)
 • Pads - Textures (18)
 • Sequencer - Arps (11)
 • Soundscapes - Drones - FX (14)
 • Synths - Keys (11)

All acoustic samples in this library were recorded with 3, sometimes 4 top notch microphones (Neumann/Shure) in L-C-R in 48 Khz/24 Bit, the microphone signals of all acoustic samples were phase-aligned which improves the stereo picture, enhances the transparency of the sound and makes for snappier transients.

You can view/download the PDF for this library with more details, the licence agreement, and the patchlist including descrtptions and playing tips here.

Coming soon: Phonemklatura for Phonem

Phonemklatura contains 100+ patches for the exceptional vocal synthesizer Phonem (PPG/Wolfgang Palm). These sounds are not aiming at any kind of vocal pseudo-realism, on the contrary, I am using the versatile and expressive vocal character of this synthesizer to create beautiful and delicate pads, ethereal textures, haunting and alien voices, phonetic experiments, tempo-synced vocaloid mayhem, robotic voices and other synthetic sounds only faintly reminding of their vocaloid origin. Often Phonem's wavetable synthesizer is used to excite the vocal resonators, resources created inside PPGs Wavemapper 2 - which also re-synthesizes sampled sounds - will be an additional sonic source for the excitation, expanding the possible palette of sounds even more.

As Phonem's onboard effects are very basic, I will also supply some effect chains for Logic 10.2 and Cubase 8 to use with some of the presets. These patches will make extensive use of Phonem's x/y-pads which can be automated in any DAW and the modulation wheel, sometimes Aftertouch will also be engaged.

Specs:

 • Approximately 100 patches
 • ETA: end of January 2016
 • Pre-order price: € 22 EUR
 • Price on release: € 28 EUR

Demos:
All demos were produced entirely with Phonem using only patches from Phonemklatura, some post-processing was applied (delay/reverb/chorus), if several instances of Phonem were used in a track, some volume automation was used.

Coming soon: Falcon AIR

After spending spring and summer with UVI's Falcon, alpha- and beta-testing it and creating 100+ patches for the Falcon factory library, it's now time to make some more sounds for this hybrid monster:

Falcon Air combines organic acoustic samples with the plethora of synthesis forms available in Falcon. Often several different synth modules will be combined in one patch, many presets will make use of the new multi-granular engine, the wavetable synth and the new physical modelling module. All samples, wavetables and images (for image re-synthesis in the WT synth) will be created especially for this library. Expressive hybrid instruments meet percussive sounds and deep impacts, sweet ambient pads, ethereal texures and minimal sequences are drowned in haunting granular abysses and mesmerizing drones, funky synth arps and big bass sounds are accompanied by ethnic drums and chromatic percussion sounds.

The sample content will be generated from multi-sampled percussion instruments and metallic/glass objects, industrial field recordings executed in factories and scrapyards, acoustic and electric guitar instruments, weird sounds of electronic gadgets captured with special coil mics, vocal performances and electronic soundscapes, also re-synthesizing and audio-morphing acoustic sounds with programs like Alchemy 2, Metasynth, Morph and Kaleidoscope.

All patches have the modulation wheel and 8 or more Macros assigned, quite a few also use aftertouch. In many patches tempo-synced modulators are used to animate the amplitudes and filters of the involved samples and sound generators, often keyswitchable sound combinations or different articulations are available within one patch. All patches which have several different sounds split across the keyboard (often over a range of six octaves or more) use key-colouring in Falcon's keyboard which makes it easier to navigate through the various split sounds.

All acoustic instrument-samples in this library are recorded in a dry studio environment with top notch Neumann microphones in L-C-R at 48 Khz/24 Bit, sometimes also adding a 4th microphone for e.g. the backside of a drum. All microphone signals are phase-aligned which enhances the stereo field and the transparency of the recorded samples.

Specs:

 • Approximately 100 patches combining all synthesis forms in Falcon.
 • Approximately 2 GB of original sample content.
 • Approximately 30 - 40 new wavetables.
 • ETA: around New Year
 • Pre-order price (paypal): € 40 EUR
 • Price on release: € 50 EUR

2nd Thoughts for Zebra released on patchpool

For years I wanted to create another soundset for u-he's legendary software synthesizer Zebra, as the patchpool journey started with some Kontakt patches and a sound-bank for Zebra. 2nd Thoughts contains 86 fresh patches for the legendary Zebra synthesizer. Since my first soundset for it, I gathered even more experience and knowledge about synth programming, sound design and sonic art in general, all of this has accumulated in this set.

This collection includes rich animated textures, drones and pads, often tempo-synced, expressive and fat leads, intricate sequencer grooves, snappy plucks and versatile bass sounds, beautiful tonal and haunting atonal soundscapes, experimental noises and physically modeled fantasy instruments. All of the oscillator waveforms and wavetables were created in Zebra's wavetable editor and all patches have up to four x/y-Macros assigned. All patches also make use of the modulation wheel and often aftertouch.

Aureus Ventus for HALion 5 released on patchpool

Today I released my second sound- and sample library for Steinberg's hybrid sampler/granulator/synthesizer HALion 5 - Aureus Ventus.

Aureus Ventus - Golden Wind - is a unique library for HALion 5 which combines flute with all sorts of achromatic and chromatic percussion instruments like Hang percussion, various chimes (also glass chimes), glockenspiel, gongs, crotales, bells, singing bowls, some deep drums, break drums (steel break discs) and more.

The flute sounds for this library were created by using a special playing technique named Pars-Pro-Toto, invented by german flutist Andreas Mazur who also performed the samples used in Aureus Ventus. He found a method to create beautiful and expressive flute sounds by playing on the single parts of a conventional flute using special fingerings and embouchure techniques. This yields sounds somewhere in between a shakuhachi, an okarina, a viola and a voice, hard to describe in words really…

Multi-sampled bass flute instruments, some vocal and string sounds and temposynced percussion loops are also be included in this library.

In addition to the above a wealth of electronic derivatives create a counterpoint to the acoustic sound worlds. Tonal soundscapes, ethereal tinkles, warm and ominous drones, minimal sequences, lush pads and other fascinating textures created with programs like Kaleidoscope, crusherX, Metasynth, GRM Tools, Serum and Zynaptiq's Morph are layered with the acoustic sounds to create expressive instruments.

The patches will make use of HALion’s exceptional granular engine, it’s deep sample player and the synth engine, often layering or splitting different synthesis forms in one patch with key-switchable articulations or sound-combinations and round robin alternations.

All of the 108 presets have the 8 Quick Controls and the Modulation Wheel assigned, many also use Aftertouch and/or HALion's Sphere-modulator, some make use of the FlexPhraser and Trigger Pads.

You can view/download the PDF for Aqualignum with more details, the licence agreement and the patch list including playing tips and deteiled descriptions for each patch here.

Specifications:
 • 108 patches
 • 3.99 GB of original samples (wav/48 Khz/24 Bit/stereo)
 • Delivery: download
 • Price: € 68 EUR

The Final Sale - Alchemy Farewell Tour - discounted Alchemy library on patchpool through March 8th

After the miraculous disappearance of Camel Audio and the announcement that there would be no Alchemy version 2 and no further development of this unique instrument, I was in a state of consternation and sonic shock for a while, as I had many plans for it in the pipeline. Now that I’ve overcome this state and said good bye to Alchemy internally, here is a final sale for all eight libraries I created over the last 4 years, plus another collection of patches formerly compiled in the unlimited subscription.

Altogether these libraries comprise 17+ Gigabytes of samples which were produced originally for these libraries and 670+ patches (x8 variations).

Final sale means, that there will be no more discounts after March 8th, I will let these libraries live on patchpool for a bit longer afterwards and then tuck them away in a legacy section of the website.

So if some of you are in need of more of my Alchemy sounds with discount of up to 30% and even more on the big bundle, now is the chance to do so.

All libraries on one page.

Tabula Rasa for Serum released

I have just released my second set for Serum:

All wavetables in this set are created from scratch, either by resynthesizing acoustic instruments, vocals, percussion, hardware synthesizers and sounds derived from organic and inorganic materials like wood, metal, plastic and glass or by creating wavetables and single cycle waveforms in Serum’s own editor.

34 wav-samples were produced especially for this set including cinematic soundscapes and drones, abstract and atonal textures and acoustic percussion sounds.

Complex modulation routings enable the user to deeply interact with the sounds, often totally changing a patch at the turn of a Macro. Tabula Rasa contains a wide range of expressive sounds ranging from ambient drones and warm pads to dark and gloomy textures to cinematic impacts and sound effects to futuristic and new age-sequences to beautiful plucks and bell sounds to expressive leads, deep basses and edgy stabs.

You can view/download the PDF for this set including the licence agreement, more info and a detalled patchlist here.

Specs:

 • 104 patches (75.9 MB)
 • 34 samples (44.1 Khz/24 Bit/stereo) - 313 MB
 • All patches have Velocity, Modwheel and four Macros assigned, most patches also use Aftertouch
 • 114 wavetables (50 MB)
 • 42 LFO shapes
 • Library size: 458,2 MB installed
 • Delivery: Download
 • Price (paypal): € 30 EUR

Product page.

All demos were produced entirely with Serum using only patches from Tabula Rasa, no post-processing was applied apart from a limiter on the outputs and some volume automation, if several instances of Serum were used in a track. Only one demo uses external reverb processing, as mentioned in the track title.
